Ouch!

in Crash

So much for being unbreakable.  This really freakin’ hurts.

Collarbone is a bit crushed.  It happened while I was “on the rivet”, practicing sprint train leadouts.  I allowed myself to overlap and touch the wheel in front of me while our train was moving at about 30 mph.  This is the result.

Here’s another angle:

Doctor believes one of my ligaments sustained some damage because of the distance between my clavicle and my shoulder.  Clavicle is riding way high, and a bump is clearly visible now that the swelling has gone down.  An MRI will confirm.

The CAAD9 faired a little worse.  The fork snapped, and there’s a very nice dent in the seat stay, which is also bent out of shape a bit.

I’ve been extremely busy at work recently.  It’s been occupying my mind nearly all the time. Today, my wandering mind caught up with me, and my Look 585. Van + bike + garage = Oh, shit.

Pawling Mountain RR – Cat 4 35+

July 16, 2011

I was going to skip the report for the Pawling Mountain Road Race.  I did not feel good during the race, and I was not pleased with my result, so I was selfishly going to omit a recount.  But I was reminded by a few folks that I don’t write this blog just for me.  [...]
